Primal Technologies announced today that the Primal Online Charging Service (OCS) has been commercially deployed with Appalachian Wireless, an East Kentucky Network company, providing their Forward-Pay subscribers with innovative monthly plans.
The Primal Converged OCS includes a variety of Unlimited and Limited Forward-Pay packages and tracks Voice, SMS, and Data usage in real-time. The Forward-Pay plans implemented on the Primal OCS allowed Appalachian Wireless to offer the same set of centralized, flexible monthly plans to all their Forward-Pay subscribers regardless of whether subscribers devices were registered on their native VoLTE network and/or Verizon LRA VoLTE network.
“Although Primal Technologies OCS is an “off-the-shelf” service, it was implemented in the Appalachian Wireless network with various network access and subscriber convenience customizations to achieve the maximum benefit and flexibility for Appalachian Wireless and their Forward-Pay subscribers” remarked Greg Carlson, Director Sales and Business Development at Primal Technologies.
“Primal Technologies worked professionally and expeditiously to implement Appalachian's required rate plans and also worked closely with our IT team to also support our data throttling Use Cases with different EPC vendors within our VoLTE network, while also being able to throttle devices on the LRA VoLTE network as required” says Jonathan Bradford, Information Technology Manager at Appalachian Wireless.
The Primal OCS is also deployed together with other Primal VAS including Apple iPhone Visual Voicemail, native Samsung Visual Voicemail, SMSC, IP-SM-GW, OTA and iHLR.
“Primal Technologies also provided us with a set of powerful REST APIs such that Forward-Pay subscribers could login into the Appalachian Wireless-developed web portal and select the Forward-Pay plan and/or Data “Add on” that met their needs. Subscribers can also top-up their accounts via a PCI compliant credit card interface, and see their plan usage. Primal also extended a Voicemail REST API so that subscribers could manage and review their voice messages on the Primal Voicemail from the same portal” commented Lloyd Stacy, Senior Software Developer at Appalachian Wireless.
